How can I add new font?

0 votes
There is a nice font I wish to use, but I cannot find it in the font list. Is there any way to add it?

It's about the font "Myriad Pro", which is available in the Office Apps.

Thanks!

Myriad Pro is an Open Type Font and, as the following discussion suggests, Open Type Fonts are not supported before Java 7: http://www.java.net/node/690921. Since the default yEd installer comes with Java 6, you have to delete the bundled version and install version 7 separately.

In detail, delete the folder 'jre' from 'C:\Program Files (x86)\yWorks\yEd', download the 'Java SE Runtime Environment 7u3' from Oracle (or any more recent version) and install it.

In case anyone is wondering, the method Michael proposed works for *all* OTF fonts, not just Myriad Pro. Thanks for the answer!

Maybe yWorks should consider bundling Java 7 with yEd?
Thanks for the clarification, I changed my post accordingly.

Since Java 7 is now the default version available on java.com, we will upgrade the bundled version soon, too.
