Question

i was wondering whether it is possible to have the nodes and edges administrated in other systems/databases. thus it would be nice to have an api to build an interface to other systems.

i do have a small network and all nodes and edges do have lots of properties. Some of them i'ld like to visualize. Since they are often changed in the original system, which cannot export gml or graphml, i need some way of real-time interaction and furthermore a history do review the changes in the network.

anyone any suggestion?

yEd does not provide an API to do this. And if you have a closer look at the license terms, you will understand why: "The Software may not be used as part of an automated process."

If you need an API, have a look at yFiles for Java, the Java class library that provides all the cool stuff that makes yEd such a great tool!
