Latex Math Support

Question

Using latex math environment inside a label would be very useful.

I really miss this feature, too. Maybe MathML could solve the problem, too. But we need the math-functions.

To be more specific, what I would really like is to be able to use latex style formatting, so have a label something like:
\lambda_{nom}
maybe have a latex escape char?

I really join-in by asking strongly for latex support. As I would really like yed, I need to say for what I have in mind, it really is a knock-out for me.
