Setting default placement of labels

+5 votes

There should be an option in the "Preferences" to choose which "placement" should be used when I put a new label, so no need to change the placement each time I add a label

Being able to set deault values for labels would be a huge bonus. i tend to use internal, centred, fit to node, and cropping in every flowchart node I use and it would speed up my work if I didn't have to edit the preferences on each node. ( I don't in practice as I create copies of the common  nodes with the desired settings and just copy them when I want to use them but this is still tedious as i have to do it each time I use yEd.

yEd is the best graph editor I have ever used despite the above gripe!!
You could create a user defined palette section and add your custom nodes to that palette section to prevent creating these nodes each time you use yEd.
Using the palette to define default styles is discussed here:

Thanks Michael and Thomas.

That solves my problem although not as easily as I would have hoped for.  I guess I can always convert the existing palette to a drawing, edit the nodes to how I would like to have them and then save them back to the palette as a custom palette.
