How to specify the target window for HTML image map exports

The current exporter for HTML images sets the target to "_blank". This means that everytime a link is clicked a new window is opened. Can a customization panel be added for HTML export to specify this and possibly other attributes?

This is already available. It is controlled by the option 'Open links in new window' of the 'HTML' tab of the export dialog.
