background coloring possible?

Can I change background color in current version?

If not, could you make such a feature in newer versions? It would help me distinguish parts of a diagram that are unrelated to each other by selecting and coloring different parts of background itself.

Although it is possible to change the background color in yEd (see "File" -> "Preferences", tab "Background"), it is not possible to use multiple different background colors at once.

Have you tried putting your diagram parts into group nodes and coloring those group nodes (similar to what "Grouping" -> "Auto Grouping" does)?
