Why is it not available through the software manager in Linux Mint?

Ok, so I'm very green when it comes to Linux, I installed Mint as my first Linux OS this morning and this is the first piece of software I want to install after all of the standards.

I was under the impression that all software suitable for the OS should be available through the Software Manager, so a little confused as to why this is not. Please can you explain why it is not and also how  to install it?

yEd is not available through the Software Manager, because the yEd Software License Agreement does not allow automated distribution.

yEd may be installed by downloading the appropriate Linux installer script from the yWorks download site and running said installer script from command line.
