how to view yEd graphs

0 votes
Hello yEd community,

We are a small family owned therapeutic counseling agency.   I'm a non-programmer in need of help with the basic activity of providing viewability of a yEd graph to my staff.

I have downloaded the yEd program and launched a sample graph.  Then I tried saving the graph in xml format to see if I could view the graph in Firefox, Word, an image viewer, or something like that.  I could not view the file in any of these programs except for Firefox which presented an error message stating that the file had no style information.  It then displayed only code.

I then downloaded the GraphMLViewer, but could not figure out how to open a yEd graph for viewing using any of the files in the distribtion.

So, I need to ask, how can I create a graph, and then provide viewability to my staff members on their machines?

Many Thanks,

Well, you could simply install yEd on those staff machines and use it to view GraphML files that have been created in yEd.

Another possibility would be to *export* your graph into a file format that can be displayed by an application that is already installed on the staff machines. E.g. Firefox can display SVG, PNG, and JPG files.
