yEd shows just a blank screen

Question

Archlinux:

$ pacman -Q yed jre xmonad

yed 3.14.4-1

jre 8u66-1

xmonad 0.11.1-4

 

when I start yEd, I just get a completely blank screen. No UI elements are drawn. The JRE warning dialog (had non-oracle jre installed before) shows however.

Seems like Java has problems on Archlinux. I do not think there is much we can do about it. The best advice I can offer is to try out different Java versions.
