Can different selections be laid out differently (e.g. hierarchically, organically)?

I made good experiences with selecting a part, cutting it, pasting it to a new file, (Ctrl+X+N+V), doing the layout there, then Ctrl+A+X, Close, Ctrl+V, move it around.

If you get used to the keyboard hotkeys, it is quite fast.

This can be achieved to some extend by using yEd's partial layout algorithm ("Layout" -> "Selection (Partial)").
