First determine if you are running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7. You can do so by clicking the Start button right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties.
If "64-bit Operating System" is listed next to System type, you are running the 64-bit version of Windows 7.
If "32-bit Operating System" is listed next to System type, you are running the 32-bit version of Windows 7.

For 32-bit Windows 7, download the Windows Exe file labeled
"yEd installer for 32-bit Windows Vista, 7, and 8. Includes a suitable Java 8 JRE.
For installation on Windows XP, you can use the installer without JRE.
"
from the yEd download page. (It is the first entry in the list of yEd downloads.)

For 64-bit Windows 7, download the Windows Exe file labeled
"yEd installer for 64-bit Windows Vista, 7, and 8. Includes a suitable Java 8 JRE.
For installation on Windows XP, you can use the installer without JRE.
"
from the yEd download page. (It is the second entry in the list of yEd downloads.)
