Why does the name of a group change with open/close?

If I make a group I can give it a name (edit on creation or via Properties->general->text). When I close the group, however, the name changes to a default ("Folder 1"). Is it possible to have the same name for a group irrespective of whether it is open or closed?

To answer the question: It's a feature (you can have different names for the two states).

To have the same name for both states, go to File > Preferences..., on the Editor tab choose "Synchronize Open and Closed Group Label" (second option from the top).
