I'm using the latest version of yEd (3.13) and becomes unusably slow soon as I enable a drop-shadow on any object (4-5 seconds lag when moving an object from one place to another on a fast quad-core machine). The problem goes away if i remove all drop shadows, so it seems to be a rendering issue.
Is there any way around this other than making very flat diagrams? It has made it very difficult to edit my diagrams, and I really like using yEd! I'm not sure if the problem is due to yEd itself, the included java VM, or with OSX Yosemite.
