Does the ALT+keyboard key not activate top menu?

0 votes
When I press ALT+F for instance I would usually open the File menu.  So, if I type ALT+F, S then it would save my file.

It does not appear that any of the ALT keys activate the menu.

Well, ALT does that for me with yEd 3.12.2/Java 6, 7, and 8/Ubuntu 12.04. What version of yEd/Java and which operating system are you running? (yEd/Java version is shown in "Help" -> "About".)
yEd 3.12.2
Java Version: 1.7.0_17
System OS is Win 7 SP1

Thank you for the additional information.

You are right, ALT acceleraton for the menu bar currently does not work. (Seems to be a bug in JIDE, the look and feel yEd uses on Windows, see JIDE 3.5.11 release notes.) We will update the look and feel for the next yEd release which hopefully fixes the problem.

In the mean time, try typing ALT (i.e. press ALT, then release ALT) followed by typing F (again press F, then release F) instead of typing ALT+F simultaneously. This worked on our Windows 7 test machine.

Fixed in yEd 3.13 (which has been released yesterday).
