Upon closing, yEd saves changes only in active drawing

Hi everybody,

I just had two drawings open, both of which had been modified. When I closed yEd, it asked whether I wanted to save changes. I said yes and yEd closed. When I opened the drawings again, the drawing I was viewing when I closed yEd had been saved correctly, while the drawing I was not currently viewing was not saved.

It would be nice if yEd asked whether the user wants to save for every modified drawing.

On close, yEd does ask for each modified diagram whether or not to save the diagram.

Your error report seems to imply that yEd asked only once instead of twice. This means that yEd considered only one of your diagrams to be modified. Since this constitutes erroneous behavior, I would like to ask for a detailed step by step description to reproduce the problem.

Well, this is interesting. I tried to replicate the problem now by creating two new drawings, saving them, adding an element to each and closing yEd. Sure enough, it properly asked two times whether I wanted to save the changes.

But I think I replicated the problem with my second try. This time, the modification I made was to change the text on one of the elements. However, I seem not to have hit the <ENTER> key before switching to the second drawing. Then when I closed yEd it did not consider the first drawing to have changed, because I had not finalized my modification of the text. I guess this must be what I did yesterday as well.

I noticed one more thing, however. yEd does not ask the user to confirm before overwriting an existing file. If you click "Save as" and use the same file name as an existing file in the same folder, it will simply be overwritten without the user being notified of this problem.

Thank you very much for the additional information. I was able to reproduce the text change issue as well and have added corresponding issue to our internal issue tracking system.

As to the missing confirmation when overwriting existing files, we are aware of this missing "feature". However, our list of possible improvements for yEd is very, very long. So, no telling when we will be able to implement this.
