How to activate the spell checker?

Unfortunately, there is no spell checker in yEd.

There is a feature request for adding one, though. Please consider voting for that request.

Fortunately, the graphml file format used by yEd is XML, so you can spell check with any XML editor. I am successfully using Sublime Text for this.
