Node labels over edges

Question

Hi, I'm using the software for a network pc map and is practically perfect.

There is only a little problem that I cannot solve: how can I put node labels over edges?

Now the result is like this:

I want to see all text without lines.

The setting 'Paint nodes over edges' in the general preferences (menu File) specifies whether nodes and their labels are below or above edges.

Additionally, the label needs a non-transparent background, otherwise the change would be nearly unnoticeable.
