yEd so much potential but let down by the basics in linux

Hi,

I tried this 3 years ago and gave up.
Tried it today and many problems still there !

If I copy an image and want to paste it into a group node, it does not paste it pastes the previous image I copied

To clear it i have to paste the image anywhere into yEd (but must not be pasted into the the group node) then cut then it and then it can be pasted correctly into the group node indecision

Also another bigger problem, I have a group node correctly set with a large image, with a single wire to the top of it.

If i open  it and then on closing the group node, the wire connection  has moved to the bottom of the node and a long straight wire is added ?

Hopefully these problems will be fixed, thanks laugh

In the first case, can you provide a step-by-step description of what you did?

In the second case, how large is the *.graphml, if you save your diagram before closing the group node? If it is below 1MB, can you upload the file here so we can inspect it?

File ( slightly different diagram ) and Video below

Thank you very much for the additional information.

What you are seeing is an artifact of automatic edge path adjustments when you open or close group nodes. This is a shortcoming of the yFiles library upon which yEd is built. Unfortunately, that version of yFiles is in maintenance mode and does not receive improvements anymore.

You can select the overlong edge, then run "Layout" -> "Edge Routing" -> "Straight Line" with option "Scope" set to "Selected Edges" to correct the edge path again. Alternatively, you can use "Tools" -> "Select Elements" to select the bends in the overlong edge and delete those bends.

I could not reproduce any problems with pasting nodes into groups.
