providing "modification date" attribute for each node element

0 votes

Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to update a "modification date" attribute whenever a node element or its children gets modified by actions performed within the editor (new element, change text of label, change color of background, ...).

I don't know if this attribute already exists and might be activated via settings?

If not, I would like to be able to use it e.g. when trying to find updated differences by checking the "modification date" of identified nodes.

Thanks.

There is no modification date attribute in yEd.

The only workaround I can think of is adding a custom property for this purpose (see "Edit" -> "Manage Custom Properties") and manually update the corresponding property value whenever you change something about a node.

Hi, thanks for your answer. It's a pitty that there is no automatic update of a modification attribute for the elements, yet. Would such a feature not be valuable enough to be integrated into the editor in the future? I could imagine that there wouldn't even be conflicts with other features, as it is just an attribute written additionally into the GRAPHML file?
