Hello everyone,

since the update to yEd 3.25.1, only one file can be opened and when saving or opening a second file, the program hangs up and refuses to work.

can you help here? all suggestions and fixes from the forum have already been applied, but do not solve the problem.

Which fixes exactly are those? I am not aware of anyone reporting a problem with opening/saving a second file breaking yEd.

Are your diagrams very large and use up a lot of memory? Maybe handling two diagrams at once would require more memory than available? You can check memory usage in "Help" -> "About".

The deletion of the library and starting the program from the mounted image as well as a complete uninstall and reinstall was applied.

Do you have any other fixes?

The files are only 4MB in size and the MAC memory is 48GB so that shouldn't be a problem.

The file size is not the same as the in-app memory usage. Moreover, the Java process that runs yEd probably does not have access to the full 48GB of RAM in your machine. E.g. on our macOS test machines the Java process is only allotted 2GB of memory by default. You really need to check yEd's "Help" -> "About" to determine if this might be a memory problem.

the memory size when the file is open is 152MB / 12GB

Do you need the error report when the program crashes?

Thank you very much for checking yEd's memory usage.

An error report would be very helpful indeed. I did not think there was a report, because the other recent macOS Sequoia problems did not result in one either.
