Why my own imported nodes do not accepty change fill color or line color?

I am afraid, fill color and line color properties are ignored for SVG and image nodes. That is not a problem of your specific nodes, but the case for all SVG and image nodes. E.g. it is not possible to change fill color and line color for nodes from the "People" palette section either.
