Layout Groups Only

Question

I have a graph consisting of many nodes and every node is in a group.  Each group of nodes has been manually displayed as desired. All the groups have arrows connecting them to each other. I would like to use the layout tool to organize the groups in a nice way without altering the layout inside any of the groups. Is that possible?

You can try to close all groups, arrange the graph with one of yEd's layout algorithms, open the groups again, and possible run one of yEd's edge routing algorithms.

For this approach to work, your closed groups have to be the same size as your open groups, though.
