How to present integer numbers on labels when importing from a .xls file?

Every time I import data from a .xls file the integer numbers are presented with dots (like "6.0" instead "6"). How can I do it while mporting data from .xls files?

Unfortunately, the library we use for importing spreadsheets does not offer a way to differentiate between integral numbers and decimal numbers. Thus cells with numeric values are always imported as decimal numbers.
