How do I raise or lower connection lines?

I'm using the bridges and want certain areas of bridges to be consistent, i.e. all parallel lines to be bridge in one direction or the other.  I can figure out how to raise and lower nodes, but not connections.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to raise or lower individual edges (what you call "connections").
