Allow edges from containing to contained node to be visible

Internal transitions in state diagrams have a line from the containing state to the contained state where the line does not leave the containing state boundary. I've not discovered a way to do that in yEd, but I'd like to be able to do that.

Create an additional node inside the group. Connect your "contained state" node to the additional node. Move the additional node as close to the desired connection point at the group as possible. Use the edge's port properties to move the edge end to the desired connection point at the group. Finally, make the additional node invisible by choosing "No Color" as fill and line color.

Sample graph.
