StackOverflowError at creating a family tree

0 votes

Hello,

I use yEd version 3.9.2 with Windows 8 64-Bit. I tried to create a complex family tree and after a while this error-message appeared: java.lang.StackOverflowError

I couldn't send a report, so I try it this way. The following information would have been in the report:

java.vendor: Sun Microsystems Inc.
java.version: 1.6.0_30
java.vm.name: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
os.arch: x86
os.name: Windows NT (unknown)
os.version: 6.2
<<Stack Trace>>
subject: java.lang.StackOverflowError [StackHash:-561803724]
yed.version: 3.9.2

Here you find the file: Family Tree

The error occurs if I try to rearrange the graph with Layout/Family Tree... (default setting).

I hope you can help me with this problem.

Yours faithfully

Ailinya

Thank you very much for your error report and the corresponding GraphML file. I was able to reproduce the problem and have filed a corresponding bug report in our internal issue tracking system.

I suggest trying "Layout" -> "Hierarchical" as an alternative to family tree.

First: Thank you for your answer.
Yes, I tried it before. It is only the Layout/Family Tree... which doesn't work. But I would like to arrange it as family tree. The other form is kind of confusing. I will wait until the bug is fixed :)
