precussor and successor views not populate for any node in te graph?

want to see filtered views of my main graph by a node's dependency tree. Is the precursor vew the best means to do that and if so why does it not always render per node?

Well, I cannot answer whether or not the predecessor/successor views are the best solution for filtering according to your criteria, but I can tell you why these views sometimes stay empty: These views display only up to 50 nodes and 100 edges.

There is already a feature request to lift the 50 nodes / 100 edges restriction. Vote for it if you would like to see that limitation removed.
