Best practice for block diagram with ports

Question

Hi, I'd like some guidance on the best approach/practice for drawing a block diagram (schematic like) in which blocks have inputs and output ports.  These blocks are connected to one another by adding edges between the ports, once drawn I dont want to the placement algorithms to reorganize the ports position within the block).  Also, once these blocks are defined , can they be saved in a library for reuse?
