How to split an edge

0 votes
Hello,

I am trying to make a graph for a family tree. At the moment I have a mother and a father who have 6 children and to show this realtionship, there are 12 lines (6 from the mother and 6 from the father).

Could you please advise how I can combine these so that there is one line coming from each of the mother and father which then splits into 6 lines for the children?

Thank you for your help

Create an additional node representing a "family". Connect mother and father to family, then connect family to each child. Do not create direct connections from mother/father to their children.
See "Help" -> "Example Graphs" -> "Layout" -> "familytree.graphmlz" for an example.

Arrange the properly structured graph with "Layout" -> "Family Tree".
