Installation and Root / Sudo Previleges Access (under Linux)

0 votes
As requested in the installation note, I've wrote at the command prompt: chmod +x yEd-3.9.2_setup.sh (or sh yEd-3.9.2_setup.sh) and was able to install and run yEd under Linux (Debian) with root previleges...Unfortunately, I don't want to run it this program as root user. What is the recommendation and procedure to run as a normal user. Is the command: 'sudo yEd &' the only solution? Let me know. Thanks.

yEd does not need root privileges - neither for installation nor for execution. So, simply install as normal user.

If that does not work for you, download the yEd (executable Jar) from yEd Graph Editor Downloads, unzip the archive, and run with "java -jar /path/to/yed.jar" (yed.jar will be in the created directory).
