JRE 11 - subject to a fee?

0 votes
As of 2019, Java may no longer be used in the corporate environment without a commercial license. JRE 11 is therefore subject to a fee.

Is there a charge for the commercial use of yED by the JRE 11?

The statement "Java may no longer be used in the corporate environment without a commercial license." is not correct.

Oracle switched from "Oracle Binary Code License Agreement for the Java SE Platform Products and JavaFX" to "Oracle Technology Network License Agreement for Oracle Java SE" for its non-OpenJDK JDK and JRE builds.

However, the JREs bundled with yEd installers are either builds released under "Oracle Binary Code License Agreement for the Java SE Platform Products and JavaFX" or OpenJDK builds released under "GNU General Public License, version 2, with the Classpath Exception". Thus there are no license fees for using the JREs bundled with yEd installers. (The bundled Java 11/13/14/15 JREs specifically are Oracle OpenJDK builds.)
