A tutorial to create new nodes

I think/hope current nodes a described in the software as a script language like XML or SVG. If not this is definitely a request for the 4.0 version.

I mean current node design and propertys are manly defined by a programming language.

So it would be good to have a tutorial, how to create new node designs. So I think it is OK when some programming skills are needed to create new designs but this should be an open API (for the future)!?

It is already possible to import SVG documents into yEd. See How can I use my own node symbols in yEd?
