Is it correct to call a line as arc if the word “arc” is synonymous with an “edge”?

According to Wikipedia articles Graph theory and Graph (discrete mathematics), all three terms ("arc", "edge", "line") are used synonymously by scientists.
However, most yEd users are not scientists (at least not in the field of graph theory). Thus we decided to use only "edge" as technical term for relations in the graph model and to use "arc" and "line" in their colloquial meaning.
