can yED provide a pattern search in structure view instead of an exact search?

Also, can yED search through all the opened windows within yED? In case I need to modify name of a variable, I can revise consistently throughout my whole document which includes several flowcharts to different subroutines/procedures.

Although the structure view does not offer a pattern search, "Tools" -> "Select Elements" and "Edit" -> "Find" do.

yEd only ever searches through the elements of the active editor.
