By default, the Description specified in node and edge properties is used as tool tip text in yEd. I.e. if the mouse hovers over a node or an edge, a tool tip with the corresponding description is displayed after a short delay.
Alternatively, yEd's properties mapper may be used to adjust the visual appearance of elements according to their description.
