Custom properties that don't disappear when you convert the Neighbourhood view to document

I want to be able to use the context views to create filtered sections of my graph but when I right-click and "Convert to Document" any custom properties present in the graph are wiped in the new document. I can't see a reason why this would be an intentional feature, so I'd almost be persuaded that it's a bug.
