What is the One-Click Layout feature?
The One-Click Layout feature is a new, experimental, work-in-progress automatic layout routine with the goal to provide an optimal diagram with a single click. You as a user do not need to care about choosing the right layout style or configuring a specific layout algorithm correctly. The feature makes heuristic choices on how to draw a given diagram in the best way. To achieve this, it uses the existing layout algorithms from yEd and yFiles as basis and aims to optimally configure them based on the characteristics of your diagram.
Why do we want your feedback?
Our heuristics try to decide based on expectations users have when running an automatic layout algorithm on their diagram. To be able to make smarter choices, we would like to know how happy you are with the resulting diagram layout. Knowing which kinds of diagrams we may not handle as expected can help us a lot in improving our heuristics and will enable us to make your future experience with yEd and this feature even more satisfying.
What data will be sent?
By clicking on 'Agree & Continue' below, you agree to send us a completely anonymized version of the diagram you would like to be arranged by our One-Click Layout feature. The anonymized version does not include any individual data associated with the diagram, i.e. no label or description texts, images etc. To see what your anonymized diagram would look like, choose 'Anonymize' in the 'Tools' menu. The diagram will be submitted along with an ID that allows us to identify diagrams sent from the same yEd installation. This ID cannot be used to identify you personally or any of your data. It helps us cluster diagrams and ratings by users for a proper evaluation. Furthermore, we kindly ask you to rate the resulting diagram on a scale from 1 to 5.
Automatic updates
We plan to update the feature frequently. By clicking on 'Agree & Continue' you agree that the latest version of the feature will be fetched before using it. You DO NOT need to update yEd and you will not be interrupted by the updating process.
