How to refresh data from a spreadsheet?

Is there a way to do the Visio option such as "refresh data" from an excel spreadsheet. I have a spreadsheet that updates all the time, and without being able to redo it with the swimlane diagrams i've placed all the nodes in I need an option that would allow me to just add nodes to the existing graph. Is this possible??

No, unfortunately not.  Opening an Excel file is a one time action that creates always a whole new diagram.
