Prefer stable node id for version control

yED seems to generate new Node IDs on save. Unfortunately, this makes maintaining a large graphml file in git a bit of a pain. When node 2 is deleted, nodes 3 - 299 all get regenerated, making a large diff. Could there be an option to not renumber nodes?
