Is there a way to prevent opening the group when clicking the corner with group state disabled?

Currently, even with the group state icon disabled, it will expand the node when clicking the corner where the icon would be displayed.

No, it is currently not possible to turn off interactive expand/close for group nodes from the "Group Nodes" palette section.

If you do not want to be able to expand a closed group, you will have use a regular node instead of a group node.

If you do not want to be able to close an open group, you may use a table node or the simple group node from the BPMN palette section.
