Build layout around a designated node?

Question

Is there any way to rearrange a diagram around (or under, etc.) a designated node? I.e. select or otherwise designate the node that you want to be at the center of the diagram (top of the hierarchy, etc.), and let the program then 'build out' the diagram from there?

It seems like people have asked about designating the top node for hierarchical layout (and the answer was no), but any layout type would be fine for me.

Basically, I'd be looking for a way to permanently rearrange the diagram in the way that it temporarily rearranges in the little window of the 'neighborhood' feature.

Additionally/alternatively, is there any way to retrieve a list of the nodes that are attached to a specific node? (If there are too many to be graphically displayed.)

Unfortunately, yEd does not come with a layout algorithm that arranges the diagram below or around a specific node.

The neighborhood view includes only specific nodes and edges such that the hierarchical layout algorithm works especially well for the neighborhood graph.

When you right-click the neighborhood view to open its context menu, you get the option to "Convert to Document".
Alternatively, "Tools" -> "Select Elements" will let you select all edges connected to specific nodes.
