Can I second this.
I'd like a legend and or key box that doesn't is not part of the normal layout.
And the abilty to add/map Graph properites would also be nice.
Yes, please add support for a "legend box" that would be excluded from the layout with it's entire content. So everything that is placed inside the legend would be handled as separate graph.
This is something I've wanted for ages. Right now I have to make a legend using elements which form part of the layout, and do tricks like creating two hidden nodes so I can draw a visible line between them.
I'd also love to be able to draw lines/arrows which are not attached to a node at one or both ends
Related to this:
Add variables that can be inserted into text that will expand to things like the current date, or the filename or path of the file. These would be useful to include in a legend box, or in the header/footer on printed output.
