...is hellish annoying under Windows. I often click on windows to focus them. Doing this on yEd drops nodes.
Now, I'm aware that deasserting File->Preferences->Editor->Create Node on Background Click stops this from happening...but then I can't drop a node at all using the mouse, other than dragging from the node selector panel. I'd like to be able to drop using double-click.
So, my suggestion/feature request is this: change "Create Node on Background Click" to a dropdown or radio-button selection headed "Create Node Using Mouse..." with the options:

by double-click on background;
-
disabled.
Sound reasonable?
