Can I set Placement of labels default to "6 Pos" ?

Unfortunately, setting a default label placement is not durectly supported.

As a workaround, create an edge, add a label, set the label's "Placement" to "6 Pos", then create  a custom palette section, and add the edge as a new template to said palette section. Whenever you create an edge from your new template, the edge's default label will use "6 Pos" as "Placement".
