How to save work with .uml extension?

natively yed stores as .graphml,how to change it to .uml so as to use the dagram generated with other editor to create java code?

Unfortunately, yEd does not support any dedicated UML export format.

Since GraphML is an XML-based format, you might be able to create an XSLT stylesheet to transform GraphML into the desired UML format.
