How can I import OpenOffice.org Calc spreadsheets?

To import an OpenOffice.org Calc spreadsheet into yEd, proceed as follows:


Step 1: Save as Excel 97/2000/XP (*.xls) document

In order to import your OpenOffice.org Calc spreadsheet, it is important to save the calculation document previously in MS Excel 97/2000/XP (*.xls) format.

In your OpenOffice.org Calc - application:

1) File -> Save As.

2) Click the "Save as type" - dropdown and choose the "Excel 97/2000/XP (*.xls)" - option

3) Click the "Save" - button in order to save your spreadsheet.

Step 2: Import into yEd

In yEd:

1) File -> Open

2) Please select your previously exported spreadsheet file and click the "Open" button
