Sí señor ;-) Linux installation runs under a continuation of GNOME 2 – the MATE Desktop Environment (ver. 1.19.2) with "Marco" window manager. Could an other window manager possibly solve this problem? I have read XFCE or KDE must be well for execute yED.

If there is a window manager, is the DISPLAY variable properly set as well?

I am running yEd without problems on Gnome (Ubuntu 16.04) and KDE (Kubuntu 16.04 and 12.04).
