Is it possible to have text area cropped when editing?

hi,

when i want to edit a lot of text in a label the text becomes a horizonal line when editing.

Is there an option so that the text stays cropped while editing the text?

There is no option to edit a label's text in its cropped "representation", I'm afraid.
The editor that opens so you can edit the text actually doesn't know anything about the cropping (more precisely the "soft line breaks" that it introduces), because, technically, the cropping happens as a "post-processing" step that is applied to the raw text of a label.
